Alicia Thompson

I inhaled this on accident oops.
Ok so I finished this one in like two sittings. It’s an easier read which makes for a fun palette cleanser book. I had finished a dark thriller prior to this one so this book had me giggling and swooning.
I love the playlist at the beginning
The character development was truly wonderful. I was invested in the relationship and invested in the backstories.
What I loved most about this book is it didn’t take itself too seriously. The humor in it was just right to allow for the perfect amount of emotion in a romance. I find sometimes romances either lack character development or read like a bad hallmark movie when it takes itself too seriously. This is a fine line and a hard one to execute on and I think this author did really well there.
It’s genuinely a bit difficult to do an in depth review without giving away spoilers so I’ll include tropes:
-friends to lovers
-pop stars
-good spice
-cruise ship setting
Open door spice 🌹🔥🌶️
I do think it could have been slightly shorter but I also inhaled this book so it felt shorter than it was if that makes sense.
The spicy scenes are excellent.
I would totally recommend this to romance lovers. I also have a weird fascination with cruise ships and the titanic and the titan and the ocean in general don’t judge me, so this setting was of interest to me.
I am curious to check out the other books by this author now!
Thank you to berkley for this gifted book. I received this as part of the underrepresented voices program.
